What we collect, why, and what we do not.

Your photograph never leaves your browser

When you try a frame on your own picture, the picture is read by your own browser and drawn there. It is never uploaded, never sent to us, and never stored anywhere. Close the tab and it is gone. That is why a link you share shows the frames but not your photograph.

What we ask for, and why

If you book an appointment we ask for your name, email, phone, the service and the time you want, so that we can hold the slot and confirm it. If you write to us through the contact form we ask for your name, email, phone and your message, so that we can answer. If you send yourself a design from the workbench we use the email address only to send it and to reply. If you replied to the fiftieth-anniversary invitation we kept your name, email and the number of guests, for the evening only. If you book a portrait session that takes a deposit, we also ask how many people will be in the picture and for your postal address, which Québec's rules for contracts made at a distance require.

How the site is measured

We count page views with Vercel Web Analytics. It sets no cookies, builds no profile of you, and does not follow you to other sites. We can see that a page was visited; we cannot see who visited it. There is no advertising pixel on this site and no third-party tracker.

Who else sees it

Four suppliers process data on our behalf and nobody else does: Vercel hosts the site and counts the visits, Resend sends the emails we write to you, Supabase stores appointments and event replies, and Stripe takes the deposit for a portrait session. Your card number goes to Stripe alone; we never see it. Some of them keep their servers outside Québec, which is a transfer we make so that the studio can run a website at all.

How long we keep it

Appointments are kept as long as they are useful to the studio's records. Emails stay in our inbox as any letter would. Event replies were deleted after the evening. When you choose a frame, nothing is kept at all: not the frames you looked at, and not the picture you tried them on. A deposit paid, and its refund, are kept for six years, as tax law requires of the studio's accounts.

Asking to see it, correct it, or have it deleted

Write to us or call the studio and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, or delete it. We answer within thirty days. Under Québec's Law 25 you may also complain to the Commission d'accès à l'information.

Who is responsible

The person responsible for the protection of personal information at Photo Cristal is the studio's owner, reachable at the studio: 647 boul. Décarie, Saint-Laurent, or (514) 744-4313.
