Since 1976, Photo Cristal has photographed the families of Montreal, one generation after the next. The pictures you choose with us are only the beginning: prints to hold, frames made by hand at the studio, lamination to protect them, copies to pass on to the people you love, and more. From the photograph to the frame, it all happens under one roof.

The first portrait, at the baby's pace.
A session for a newborn or a baby under 2 lasts 60 minutes, so there is time to feed, change and settle between photographs, and time to choose the picture together at the end. Parents, brothers and sisters are welcome in it. Poses stay simple and safe, with a parent holding the baby.

How long does a session last?
30 minutes, then we choose your picture together before you leave. A session for a baby or a group can take up to 60 minutes.
How many outfits can I bring?
As many as you like, at no extra cost.
How many people can be in the photograph?
Up to 5 people from $75, and 6 or more from $125. For a group of more than 10, call the studio first so we can plan the session.
Can I have more than one photograph?
Yes. One digital photograph is included; keep as many as you like, and have them printed, framed or laminated at the studio, as you choose.
Can you print and frame the picture?
Yes, at the studio: prints in every size, custom-made frames, lamination, copies, and more. Prices depend on what you choose.
How far ahead should I book?
At least 2 days ahead. For anything sooner, call the studio and we will see what we can do.
Why a deposit?
It holds the time for you. The $50 is paid by credit card when you book, applied to the price of the session, and refunded in full if you cancel before it.
What if I need to change or cancel?
Cancel online with the link in your confirmation email, at any time before your session, and your $50 deposit is refunded in full. We ask for 24 hours' notice where you can give it, so the time can go to someone else. To change the time instead, call the studio at (514) 744-4313.
Are you open on Sundays?
For portrait and newborn sessions, by appointment, from 10:00 to 16:00. The studio is otherwise closed on Sundays.
Up to what age is it a baby session?
Newborns and babies under 2. From 2, a child is photographed in a regular portrait session.
