Since 1976, Photo Cristal has photographed identity documents for families across Montreal and the surrounding region. We work from the published specification for the country you need — dimensions, background, head position, expression — and check the photograph against it before anything is printed.

Walk in
During opening hours, at 647 boulevard Décarie. Call ahead if you would rather be certain of the time.
We photograph
In the studio, against the background your document requires — then checked against the published specification for that country.
You leave with prints
Cut to size and in hand. A digital file as well, if the application asks for one.
Asked often.
Do I need an appointment?
No. Walk in during opening hours and we will photograph you then. If you would rather be certain of the time, call the atelier ahead.
Which countries do you photograph for?
Any. We work from the published specification for the country and document you name — dimensions, background, head size and position all differ, and we set the photograph to match.
Can you photograph infants and children?
Yes. Infant and child identity photographs have their own requirements, and we are used to them.
What about glasses, or a head covering?
Requirements differ from one country to the next. We follow the published specification for yours, and will say plainly if something needs to come off.
Can I have a digital copy?
Yes — prints, and a digital file alongside them when an application asks to be filled in online.
What should I bring?
The specification if you already have it. Otherwise the country and the document type is enough — we will take it from there.
